I'd really appreciate any thoughts on this. Sorry for all the questions, just feeling a bit overwhelmed with all of the options as I'm researching what will be the best backup plan for me. It's difficult because I want the supposed benefits of encryption and auto breaking up of files, but I worry about the dependency issue and also if it will lower my upload speeds to ACD.Ĭould I just manually compress / break apart files using 7zip and achieve most of the same benefits? Are all of those files now unrecoverable without the use of Arq software? It seems like using a piece of software to get all my data up into ACD just creates another possible weakness / dependency in my backup plan if anything happens with that software. One concern I have is lets say I choose Arq to encrypt and send all my files, then at some later date Arq goes out of business. Customize your schedule Choose specifically what and when to back up. Download now Select folders for backup Choose the folders you want automatically backed up. Download and install the app Then sign in with your Amazon account. Always make sure you have installed the latest drivers for your device. Upload your files as a backup, and download to any computer to restore them. With SyncBackPro you can also create your scripts that could give you access to other devices.

I'm not very technical when it comes to compression or breaking apart files for archiving, so If someone could break down the pros and cons of using one of these pieces of software to send my files to Amazon Cloud Drive that would be great. SyncBackPro/SE can access devices connected to the computer that support the Media Transfer Protocol, e.g. My concern is that I've read things about Amazon or the government being able to crawl unencrypted data and either decide that I'm breaking the ToS because one of my files is some obscure sort they don't support (amazon), or I've done something uncle sam doesn't like now or in the future.
